If you play a Battle, even if you change "friendly fire on" (without health penalty), in the game there is a health penalty for shooting other players.

you mean that someone finally played the battle gametype ? big_smile

Nice. I don't even remember how the gametype works. big_smile

1.  Should COOP work on XP?

2.  The install instructions say:    "Unzip the downloaded file into your rtcw installation. Make sure that the ‘coop main’ folder from the zip file is at the same level as the ‘main’ folder from your rtcw installation."   In that unzipped file are two main folders.  One is called Main which has a spak4.pk3 file in it and the other is called Coop Main with different files in it.  Obviously I'm not going to copy over my existing RTCW Main folder, so just what is the "Main" folder in the unzipped file for?

3.  Once installed, should the Coop exe and the ded_coop exe files be inside of the RTCW folder along with WolfMP.exe and WolfSP.exe?

4.  Is there specific version of RTCW SP I should be using?

5.  The links to sample server configs and bat files are broken.  The links for google work but what I found there looked like something more for coders.

1. Should.

2. The info seems to be for combining RTCW and RTCW COOP into same installation. I think you could try separating them. Follow these steps.

Create a new folder in good location .../your-coop/
Then Unzip rtcwcoop-1.0.1 ZIP into it.
There you have automatically folders "/your-coop/main" and "/your-coop/coopmain"
"main" is for RTCW files and "coopmain" is for COOP files.
Go to your original RTCW game "main" folder. Copy these files and paste these files to your COOP "main" folder

mp_pak0.pk3
mp_pak1.pk3
mp_pak2.pk3
mp_pak3.pk3
mp_pak4.pk3
mp_pak5.pk3
mp_pakmaps0.pk3
mp_pakmaps1.pk3
mp_pakmaps2.pk3
mp_pakmaps3.pk3
mp_pakmaps4.pk3
mp_pakmaps5.pk3
mp_pakmaps6.pk3
pak0.pk3
sp_pak1.pk3
sp_pak2.pk3
sp_pak3.pk3

Done. Your config is best read from C://Documents and settings/User/documents/RtcwCOOP/coopmain/ . With XP it is probably different path, but go to your personal files folder. This is the folder that game uses to store your configs and stuff.

3. It can be played from RTCW game folder. Then these files are in same folder. However I feel it being more simple to keep COOP separate standalone and following steps on 2nd. So both ways should work.

4. Newest. Was it 1.41.

5. Which links you mean?

Btw here is a new link to the server tutorial. Our wiki has recently been moved so it is still a bit mess.

https://github.com/fretn/rtcwcoop/wiki/ … p-0.9.9%29

and

https://github.com/fretn/rtcwcoop/wiki/Administration

PS. If you are trying it with 64 bit windows version, try changing it to 32 bit. Once I had to change to 32 bit even thought my system was 64 bit for the game to work.

I have splitted the problem with Wolf 3d into a new topic.

Did you decompile the BSP into MAP? To me it seems you have tried to decompiled the map and then compile the map back in to BSP. Do you have the original map file? Is it a must to edit the map file or would simply editing the script be enough?

Decompiling BSP is not suggested as some things are lost, such as texture coordinates.

The Red error spam (and not functioning AI) is because you have no working _b0.aas and _b1.aas files. They need to be compiled separately after you have compiled BSP.

I spot the errors and I know the causes and fixes for them.

I mean if the weapons aren't replacements then how to get them ingame?? and how to activate cheating in coop?? the rtcw normal way didn't work (adding that line to the shortcut)

Well you would have to take out the code and implement the parts of code yourself. If it was a simple replacement, you could just put the pk3 into the coopmain folder.

Did you use /sv_cheats 1 ? I have not used it so I don't know if it works in Coop. I load the map with /coopdevmap map instead of /coopmap map. This enables cheats like /god or /noclip.

By the way, Welcome to forums! smile

Hi all,
There is a nice mod for RtCW called additional weapons, in which you can use new weapons (ppsh, mp44 and k43). Is it possible to add it to RtCW Coop?

If the weapons are added in code, then no. If it is just a model and texture to replace existing ones, then yes.

Well done. Let's keep the first post updated of all the newest map versions and releases. This thread shall be discussion of published maps. Other one for work in progress. That way we will know if one is converting a map so two persons is not editing same map. smile

Really nice map! Well done! Apart from troubling with ending ammo (which is fine) I found no problems. Challenging map. smile

Perhaps you should make separate threads for each released map. And direct download link, instead of linking into news feed. These maps are hard to notice atm. Kinda sinks into this topic. That way these may get the recognisation they deserve.

This thread was for work in progress. smile

Hello and welcome! Always nice to see new players. smile

Could you please post the console log and computer specs here so our guys can try to help? Do /condump log.txt after loading the game and copy the resulted txt file from ../user/my files/rtcwcoop..

Also try to set /sv_pure 0

And also try /cl_renderer opengl1 then restart

Awsome! I played it through without reinforcments or respawn. Quality made conversion and even nice difficulty for playing alone. I believe once there are reinforcements and respawn and multiple players it will be a blast. Thank you for contributing!

Oh wow! The last set of pics is amazing! When can we play this? How is the FPS?

Yeah can't tell. Most fun is trying to pass as many levels as possible with only knife and kick. smile

There's also the problem with the old respawn tk bug. Testing the maps on your own means you wouldn't have been aware of this problem.

This was earlier caused because of a wrong spawnflag on coop_spawnpoint in .ents file. This is the right spawnflag for an active spawnpoint:

"spawnflags" "3"

Obviously if any Coop spawnpoints have not been added, then it will use the one from RTCW SP, and it will make players spawn inside each other.

Edit. Documented this in Wiki tutorial, incase someone will need it.

Such a shame that you don't have time to finish your great work. sad

I wish someone will find the time to give life to this nice conversion. I myself am very busy atm.

Ps. Is there any particular reason for stopping, other than the time itself? Any bugs/problems slowing you down?

I can only play 32 bit game while I have 64 bit OS.

Is editing the following folder allowed

C:\Users\Zaid Walter\Documents\RTCWCoop\

(13 replies, posted in Bug reports)

Hello! Just guessing. Check the folder/engine paths on your console. Or then do /condump my.txt and post it here.

Make sure you allow editing c: user files folder where it tries to save your game data.

Updated to Coop 1.0.0.

Now I shall present you the updated, extended and finished Coop map conversion tutorial. It should have everything you would ever think about. You do not need to have previous experience of scripting or mapping, aslong as you have a little patience and have a basic skills of learning. It may seem scary at first look, but it is not really that bad (atleast so I have heard )

Also now Coop is more Custom map friendly. For example there are fast HTTP downloads and there is a present campaign system that makes playing the maps easy. So maybe give it a go. Couple days and you get to play a map. wink

Also we have disabled playing as Axis.

And we have made the custom campaigns be autoplayed.
