Yeah, even that would be great, Sage. It would mean that trying to get to the Seafire plane and then to the truck all more difficult and all the more fun too smile . Thanks for your reply, Sage cool .

Hi again, Sage. My clan love this map, we frag on it all the time now. We've had an idea when it comes to stealing the documents and then getting them to the Seafire plane. Right now we just have a clear run to the plane to deliver the documents, we've killed all the Axis on defence by this time. We then, as you know, just have to jump on board the truck to make our escape.

Is there any way, when we steal the documents and the Seafire has landed, that a siren can then sound and a squad of Axis appear, probably from the aircraft hangar where the Seafire comes to a halt, in order to prevent us from getting the documents to the Seafire so easily? It would be great to see one of our Allied squad drop the documents and then hear the famous, "objective secured", Axis wav when they return it smile .

I think it would be a great way to complete this part of the Capuzzo mission and really add to the intensity of the action.

A sensible approach, Fretn. It's always wise to make sure that the foundations are well built first, then you can add to it. =KT= SuperRetardo posted the download link for the latest version here:

They're very talented guys.

Maybe its something for next releases

That would be epic indeed cool . It never ceases to amaze me, after all these years since RTCW was released, just how many developers still have a real love for this superb game. Eugeny, over on the Volfshantse website, is in the process of making a RTCW HD retexture pack, the screenshots look awesome:

Long live Return to Castle Wolfenstein big_smile .

That really is great work, Set@mon. I use Firefox with the Google search engine and it works perfectly on that. A few modifications by Fretn to get it the way he likes it and I think you'll have a real winner here cool .

Schnoog, over on Splatterladder, posted some really interesting news from the guys of the =KT= Clan. They've been playing RTCW since "day one" and they've just released their "Evo Wolf" upgrade for RTCW MP, I'm sure that this will interest Nate, here's the details and screenshots:

Is there any way that these awesome effects could be incorporated in RTCW COOP, Fretn?

That sounds epic, Set@mon, I'm looking forward to seeing it when you've finished it smile .

Keep in mind that if you want me to consider using your layout that it cannot contain images or other media that are copyrighted by somebody else, for example that background (which I really like, but we need permission from the original author)

I can't see that being too much of a problem, Fretn. Back in the day, when we were all playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein, the Activision crew were always encouraging us to to add to the game , new maps, mods, weapons/uniform skins etc.. All that seemed to be required was that we had to always give Activision the credit for the original design material.

Set@mon would just have to do the same, adding Activision logos and copyright symbols to his design, usually they are found in the bottom right corner of any advertising picture/display. If Set@mon can actually contact the Activision crew then so much the better cool .

If the release for 0.9.4 is for this Friday then I will be a very happy fragger, Fretn big_smile . If, however, you have to delay the release to get things the way you want them then so be it. Either way, you and your Dev Team are doing a marvelous job cool .

I have to agree, Fretn. Don't get me wrong, I've always loved the cutscenes, especially the one for "Dam":

"What am I supposed to do with all this cheese?!"

"I don't know. Buy some crackers?"

big_smile big_smile big_smile

They don't really fit, though, when it comes to RTCW COOP mod. COOP is all about fast, hectic action from map to map, the beloved cutscenes would just slow that action down.

That's great news, Fretn. If things go according to plan, though, you may soon have more custom content than you were expecting. As I mentioned before, the Russian RTCW fans, the Volfshantse Community in particular, have made some amazing maps and missions for RTCW SP. I have contacted them regarding your excellent work with RTCW COOP and I am now awaiting their reply in respects to porting their maps for RTCW COOP.

Here's the link to my post:

http://volfshantse.netorn.ru/forum/viewforum.php?f=4

To say that the Volfshantse Community are good at making maps would be the understatement of the year. These are some of the most talented developers in the history of the game and when I spoke with developers such as Krot and Hiperon about RTCW COOP they were very interested and they were kind enough to allow me to join their website. Registration is normally disabled unless you are granted permission from their excellent community. I consider myself very fortunate to have been allowed to join there.

There is another developer there, his name is Vicpas, his work is awesome. Here's a link to his Youtube channel where you can see some of his superb work:

I will keep you posted with any new developments.

I was wondering if the RTCW Map Downloader would work for RTCW COOP? It's a great tool that really speeds up the downloading of maps and other files when you connect to a customised server. Here's the details:

================================
===RTcW MAP DOWNLOADER README===
================================
Version: 0.8
Date:    December, 5 2008
Site:    http://www.breezie.be/rtcw/mapdownloader
Contact: breezie1337@msn.com
================================

What?:
This is an application that works together with the game 'Return to Castle Wolfenstein'.
It automatically downloads missing custom maps for the game.

Why?:
Unfortunately RTCW does not support HTTP downloads.
Downloading maps at 12kb/s takes way too much time.
Thats where this app. comes in handy.

How?:
1. Open the EXE file.
2. An icon will appear in your tray.
3. If a map is missing, RTCW will be shut down, the map will be downloaded and RTCW will restart.

Requirements:
   - RTCW (1.0, 1.33 or 1.4)
   - .NET Framework 2.0
   - Downloads must be enabled on both client and server (sv_allowdownload 1 & cl_allowdownload 1)

Notes:
   - You can view a list of supported maps on the website. You can also add maps and download URL's.

It can be downloader from here:

I've already played RTCW Capuzzo Airport, great map and great fun too. It seemed strange being in that environment and not actually being on our WolfET server big_smile . It will be an excellent addition to RTCW COOP.

I agree, Timegate is better, Assasin. The maps made for Project 51, however, are mostly "wide open" maps that are better suited to large amounts of players in a multi-player environment.
